Minerva Martinez

Minerva Martinez, 60, of Kearny, NJ, passed away on July 14, 2025, at Clara Maass Medical Center.
Born on July 26, 1964, in Newark, New Jersey, Minerva was the beloved daughter of Laurentino Acevedo and Eulalia Perez. She was a proud graduate of Barringer High School in Newark.
A dedicated caregiver, Minerva worked as a home health aide at Always Homecare for six years, where she touched many lives with her compassion and kindness.
She was a devoted mother to Jorge Martinez, Alberto Castillo and his wife Jasmine Perez, David Castillo and his wife Krystal Lazo. She was also a loving sister to Evelyn Acevedo, Edwin Acevedo, and Julio Acevedo. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Jaslyn Castillo, Chase Castillo, Mason Castillo, Ryan Castillo, and Lian Castillo.
Minerva will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strength, and her nurturing spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Zuasola Funeral Homes of New Jersey, 101 Union Ave. Belleville, NJ 07109. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, 748 Schuyler Ave., Kearny, NJ 07032.
