Lumen Mendoza

Lumen Mendoza, a cherished soul from Belleville, New Jersey, left this world on November 3, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 27, 1942, in Lares, Puerto Rico, Lumen was the beloved son of the late Agustin Mendoza and Francisca Soto. A devoted husband to the late Rosa Rodriguez, Lumen's life was a testament to love, resilience, and passion. He dedicated 40 years of his life as a technician at Morgan Matroc Inc, where his expertise and kindness left an indelible mark on both his colleagues and friends. Beyond his professional achievements, Lumen was a gifted guitarist whose melodies brought joy to many. His love for playing dominos and his fascination with cards were just a few of the many interest of his life.

Family was the cornerstone of Lumen's world. He was a proud and loving father to Judith I. Cumba, Raymond Cumba, Wilson Cumba, Yaritza Cumba, Wanda, Jose Lumen, Maribel, and the late Rolando and Jorge Cumba. Lumen shared a special bond with his siblings, Catin, Agustin, Wilson, Milna, and Manuel cherishing their connection throughout his life. As a grandfather, Lumen found immense joy in nurturing and celebrating the lives of his grandchildren: Natasia, Elio, Freddy, Crystal, Guarberto, Isaiah, Rose, Ayani, Taesha, Taina, Isaac, Desiree, Jeremiah, Yulian, Nathalia, Giselle, Ivan, Ginna, Yabnel, and Yaneliz. Each grandchild was a unique melody in the symphony of his life, and his legacy will echo in their hearts forever.

Lumen Mendoza's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Zuasola Funeral Homes of New Jersey, located at 101 Union Avenue, Belleville, NJ. A final farewell will take place on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
