Lilia Bay

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lilia Bay of Jersey City, New Jersey, 68, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Born in Valenzuela, Bulacan, Philippines, on July 27, 1957, Lilia spent the majority of her life in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. In the words of Maya Angelou, "I sustain myself with the love of family.” Lilia embodied this sentiment, her life was a testament to the power of familial bonds, which she nurtured with deep affection and unending dedication.

Lilia was a remarkable woman, whose resilience and kindness touched everyone around her. She was the proud mother of Alfredo and Raquel Desoloc, Loreto Desoloc, Mary Grace and Jayson Manuel, Maricel and Aries Sanchez. Their achievements were her joy, their happiness her goal. Lilia was also an adored grandmother to Vincent Miguel Desoloc, Anna Loraine Desoloc, Princess Sarah Desoloc, Justine Gabriel Manuel, Jian Gabriel Manuel, Jasmine Garrote, and Angela Sanchez. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, each one holding a special place in her heart. Lilia's love and warmth also extended to her siblings Dolores Capiral, Armando Ramos, Hilario Ramos, Benigno Ramos, Crisanto Ramos, Manita Ramos Lauritano, Aurora Guillermo, Rosanna Eugenio, and Agnes Mendoza. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pelagio and Zenaida Ramos, and her siblings Angelita Santos, Emiliana Ramos, and Florentina King.

Lilia's life was a living example of a quote by Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." She was a beacon of love and kindness, her innate ability to connect with others and make them feel cherished will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Lilia is survived by her devoted husband Ruben Bay, with whom she shared a beautiful life full of love and mutual respect.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3:30pm at Zuasola Funeral Homes of New Jersey, 101 Union Avenue, Belleville, New Jersey, 07109. Cremation will be held privately.
