Icera Calmus Lampkin Obituary (1917

Icera Calmus Lampkin "Rose" went home to the Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J. at the age of 98. She was born on October 28, 1917 to the late William Lampkin and Sadie Moore Lampkin in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She was one of five children. She went to Pulaski County School in Hawkinsville and graduated High School. Icera attended Sandridge Baptist Church, also in Hawkinsville She moved to Newark, New Jersey in the early 1940's. Icera worked until the age of 77 at which point she stopped and enjoyed her retirement. Icera was predeceased by her sisters: Gladys Lampkin Miller, Addie Lampkin Brantley, Lillian Lampkin Brantley, her brother, Eddie B. Powell and her daughter Darlene Lampkin Williams. Icera leaves to cherish her memory one grandson, Eric Lampkin Bloomfield of Bayville, N.J.; two nieces: Ethel Powel of South Orange, N.J. and Tracy Butler (Erskin) of Philadelphia, PA; one cousin Carrie Dewees of Queens, N.Y.; two great-nieces: Kiyana Barcus and Keara-Lynn Cooper of Philadelphia, PA. Icera is also survived by three special friends: Roelda Archer of Irvington, N.J., Cynthia Raff of Carlsbad, California, and Francis Armstrong of MacDonough, Georgia, Family and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, August 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Zuasola-Grillo Filipino Funeral Service, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, N.J. Funeral Services will commence at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Cora Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 1137 North Broad Street, Hillside, N.J.
