Fermina Montas

–

Belleville, New Jersey

It is with tender hearts that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Fermina Soriano Montas of Belleville, New Jersey, known to her loved ones as Mina. Born on September 3, 1946, in Binondo, Manila, Philippines, Fermina spent her life embracing the world with her radiant warmth and contagious joy. She passed away on July 13, 2026, at Clara Maass Medical Center.

Fermina was a dedicated, thoughtful, humble, and loving woman who embraced every moment of life with courage and grace. Her deep love for her family was manifested in the way she cherished her role as a wife, mother, and later as a doting grandmother. She was known in her community as a beacon of love and strength, always ready to lend a helping hand and share her wisdom. She enjoyed singing and dancing, and her lively spirit was infectious. Every time her feet touched the dance floor, her joy radiated across the room, and her love for line dancing was legendary. She was a devoted advocate of Blessed Virgin Mary. She faithfully prayed the rosary everyday at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Fermina's humble nature was evident in her simple life; she found joy in serving others. Her loving spirit was best displayed in her cooking. Her dishes were a testament to her thoughtfulness, as she catered to the taste buds of everyone who had the honor of dining at her table. She was known for her role in the church gatherings and her dedication to babysitting the neighborhood kids, extending her motherly love and care to all. Fermina’s life was a testament to the power of a loving heart and a humble spirit. She is survived by her children, James, Jackie, Joy, Jamielou, and Jay Montas, and her grandchildren, Sophia Amistoso, Jose Louis Amistoso, Juliana Beroy, and Jasmine Beroy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Romeo Montas, and her parents, Fermin Soriano and Aurora Gonzales.

Fermina's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service that will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. She leaves behind her an enduring legacy of love and devotion. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of our beloved Fermina on the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help keep her light alive in our hearts.
